Welcome to Villages of Puget Sound! I enjoy taking pictures of natural scenery, but I also love the iconic images to be found in small towns. Most of these towns that I visit are located around the large saltwater inlet known as Puget Sound in Washinton State. And that’s why the title.

I like to compare cameras to hammers. Almost every household has a hammer. Not many people have built a house with one. There are tons of cameras out there, but they are just tools like a hammer. To use one well, visit an art gallery, buy a used book on composition, and/or join a nearby photography club. That’s what I did/do and its opened up a new world for me.

People experience art images on an individual basis. Not every subject appeals to every person. If an image doesn’t reach out to you and tap your emotions in some way, its not the item for you. Here’s hoping that you find images throughout your life that tap on your shoulder in some way.

PS – This is a new site and I’m adding images routinely.

Best wishes for your art journey,
Phil Baumgaertner
